TIMILIA DURUM WHEAT CRACKERS
We decided to create our turmeric crackers in order to allow you to rediscover the traditional flavour of Timilia wheat, which is also known as mazzuolo or tremelia wheat. Timilia wheat is a rare durum wheat that is rich in minerals in both the grain and bran. Timilia wheat, a very old and high-quality grain, is easy to digest and suitable for the whole family. In the wake of the huge success of our ancient corn crackers flavoured with chilli pepper and with rosemary, we decided to add turmeric to the simple and authentic cracker recipe. This is how our turmeric crackers were born, made with only four natural and organic ingredients: Timilia durum wheat, extra virgin olive oil, turmeric and salt.

TURMERIC: AN UNMISTAKABLE SPICE
Turmeric, characterised by its unmistakable flavour, aroma and colour, is known and used worldwide for its nutritional content and beneficial properties. Since ancient times it has been used in traditional Indian and Chinese cuisine. It was not until more modern times that use of the spice, which is taken from the rhizome (the underground stem of the plant), spread to the Western world, mainly in powdered form. Turmeric, which is also known as “the Indian saffron”, is one of the main spice ingredients of curry dishes.

ALL THE NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF TURMERIC CRACKERS
Turmeric, a spice considered by many to have miraculous properties, is now a popular ingredient in healthy and natural dishes, thanks to its numerous beneficial properties. Traditional Chinese medicine attributes turmeric with anti-inflammatory as well as pian-killing properties. Turmeric also has excellent properties for purifying the organism. It is hepatoprotective and antioxidant, capable of contrasting the action of free radicals. According to recent studies, turmeric has anti-tumor properties, as it contains substances that combat the enzymes responsible for the development of some forms of cancer. Turmeric crackers are not only healthy, thanks to the presence of the powerful spice turmeric, but also because we have chosen to use Timilia wheat from the wide range of wheats available, a healthier grain that is richer in beneficial properties and has a high protein content. Timilia wheat grains also contain group B vitamins, which are fundamental for our organism. Furthermore, Timilia wheat contains numerous and important mineral salts, including zinc, iron, calcium, sodium and potassium. Timilia wheat is also known for its properties in protecting the circulatory system and cellular health.
